Reporting Bugs:

If you are experiencing USB errors (errors in kernel log, corrupted images, lack of images), make sure you don't have a VIA USB controller (use "lspci" to determine this). The VIA 82C586 chip and possibly other VIA USB chips don't work under Linux. Email the maintainer of your UHCI driver instead. Also, see this page for info on defective USB devices.

Email me at one of the addresses below. Be sure to include:

• Your driver version (look in /proc/video/ov511/0/info, or in your kernel log)
• Your OS and kernel versions
• Your processor type and speed
• The name of your host controller driver(s) (usb-uhci, uhci, usb-ohci, uhci-hcd, ohci-hcd, or ehci-hcd). Use "lsmod" or "lspci" if you don't know
• The driver's output when plugging the camera in and when capturing (if applicable). This is in /var/log/messages. You should reload the ov511 module with the debug=4 parameter before doing this.
• Any sample images that help show what is wrong, if the bug is a visual one. Don't worry about overflowing my mailbox with large attachments; I have plenty of space.
